I drew this using the Procreate app on my iPad for my screen printing class. We were instructed to take something that design made better over time. Since I’ve grown up in the age of technology, I decided to pay homage to the man who started it all: Alexander Graham Bell, the father of the first practical telephone. Without him, the way we communicate and connect with others would be so different from what we know today. I drew Alexander Graham Bell on a bPhone, which was my parody of an iPhone to show how far the design of phones has come since the late 1800s.

This was my Figure Drawing final in 2019. The task was to recreate an iconic piece of art and make it modern as well as replicate the source. I used Banksy’s iconic piece of The Queen and David Bowie as my inspiration to make Alexander Hamilton and Lady Gaga. Much like how the Queen is an important figure in history, Alexander Hamilton helped create the United States into what it is today. I used Lady Gaga’s face art from “Applause” to mimic the signature lightning bolt of David Bowie. Both David Bowie and Lady Gaga are artists who helped to revolutionize and change the music industry, and both are very prominent on all my Spotify playlists.
